.: XNA Game Development
Microsoft has released their first version of XNA Game Studio Express. This powerful game development tool allows anyone to develop games for both windows and the XBox 360. All aspects of game design, 3D Audio, 3D and 2D graphics, mouse/keyboard/gamepad input have all been catered for in a way that allows the user to concentrate solely on the game logic. XNA GSE itself is free and windows game developemnt is also free, in actual fact the only cost is to The Creator's Club, which is only necessary if you wish to develop games for the XBox 360, if you have ever wanted to create professional games or simply want to make a few free games for you website then now is the time to make a start.

.: Windows Administration
Unlike many of my colleagues, i believe that a windows network, consisting of windows 2003 servers and Windows XP desktops, can be both secure and efficient. Recent additions from Microsoft, such as Windows defender, Malicious software Removal tool, and the builtin windows firewall have created the possibility of a network that can be secured as long as a certain few services are available. These services, WSUS to distribute all new windows/office updates, Group policy to enforce security settings and a PKI infrastructure to distribute the necessary certificates that will provide such measures as encryption of data both on the pc and over the network. When these and other services exist, it becomes very difficult for a potential attacker to compromise sensitive data, however, even with these measures in place there is still a need for programs to be installed, configurations to be changed, and users to abuse. Microsoft added to tools in earlier versions of windows to help with automating these tasks, WSH (Windows Scripting Host) allowed almost all tasks to be completed without any user interaction, which is good because it is no longer necessary to explain that 'Your Computer' and 'My Computer' can be the same thing. With every successive version of windows these tools were included and expanded and are now an integral part of any IT admin's life.
Again, thank you for visiting my site, please have a look around and use what you need. ta
