.: Windows Application Deployment - Convert NSF to PST

Moving from IBM's Lotus Notes to Outlook after 5 years of using Notes leaves every user with potentially a large amount of mail data. As most people irrationally feel the need to keep every email they have ever received, it becomes quite difficult to find and covert their 10Gb mail file. It was decided that as we had the license for the notes client for another year, the mail files stored locally on the user's PC would not be converted to PST. Only the data stored on the server would be converted. Please note that this situation did in some instances influence the user to email their entire notes mail file to their exchange mail box, a good practice is to disable the user's ability to send mail from the notes account after they have been moved to exchange.
The Lotus Notes mail file that was stored on the server can be converted in the following way:
First, configure the lotus notes client to open the NSF file that you want to convert, by changing to the appropriate Notes ID, if the NSF file is not on the Notes server then copy it there now.

Download and install the Outlook Connector, that allows you to view your Lotus Notes Mail in Outlook. OS validation is required.
Open the Mail Control Panel component, create a new profile and call it anything you like:

Select "Add a new e-mail account" and press next.

Select "Additional Server Types" and press next.

Select as above and press next.

Make sure that the Server address and Notes ID are correct and press OK.

Configure as you like and press OK.

If Displayed Press Yes
The Profile is now complete, in the profile window select "Prompt for a profile to be used" and press OK.
Thats basically it, now start Outlook select the profile that you just made and when prompted enter the password for the notes ID. A connection to the Notes server is necessary to use the Notes connector. Once open, create a new Outlook PST file, give it an appropriate name and copy everything from the Lotus Notes Mailbox to the newly created PST file.
All Done.
Now you can return to the deployment page.
